To prevent thefts, an audio system of the new Suzuki Jimny has an in-built protective feature. To clarify, your car audio system will not function if it is installed in another car (or after being disconnected from the car battery, for example, for replacement purpose) if you do not provide its Personal Identification Number (PIN) to enter.
Note, this anti-theft feature will run only if you have previously set the PIN.
How to set the PIN
Turn off the audio system, then do the following:
- Hold down the buttons 1 and 6 and press VOL PUSH PWR knob. “SECURITY” will be displayed.
- Press UP button and button 1 simultaneously.
- Enter a 4-digit number to be registered as PIN using buttons 1, 2, 3 and 4.
- Hold down TUNE/FLD knob for 1 second or longer to set the anti-theft function.
How to deactivate the anti-theft feature (to delete PIN)
To alter the PIN, first, delete your current one and, then, set a new PIN.
- Hold down the buttons 1 and 6 and press VOL PUSH PWR knob. “SECURITY” will be displayed.
- Press UP button and button 1 simultaneously.
- Enter a 4-digit number to be registered as PIN using buttons 1, 2, 3 and 4.
- Hold down TUNE/FLD knob for 1 second or longer to delete the registered PIN. The indication “—” will be displayed and the anti-theft function will be canceled.
How to enter the PIN
Set the ignition switch to “ACC” position and do the following:
- Press UP button and button 1 simultaneously.
- Enter a 4-digit number to be registered as PIN using buttons 1, 2, 3 and 4.
- Hold down TUNE/FLD knob for 1 second or longer.
If the entered PIN is correct, the audio system power is turned off, and, then, it becomes functioning again.
